Your day to day

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, in this key role, you will oversee and manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), including the planned and reactive maintenance and asset management. Underpinned by ongoing management and development of the resorts asset register and Asset Management Plan, you will have strength in asset creation (including capital expenditure process), depreciation and disposal.
Further to this, managing the resort Building Management System (BMS) and electronic smart automation system, Suite Control. You will provide ongoing support for energy management, utilities reporting, budgeting and assist the Director of Engineering with contracts & contractor management, sourcing, procurement, immobilisation and daily coordination of maintenance contracts and the associated contractor management.
In our unique location, this will include working across the Resort, our Colleague Village and the Hayman Estates. In addition, the responsibility to drive all aspects the role, working closely with other key stakeholders and Engineering Leaders so that unscheduled down time is eliminated and minimal disruptions for guests and team members occur. Working to tight deadlines, it’s a fast-paced role that requires strong organisational and collaborative skills, to ensure that brand standards are met and any federal, state, and/or local regulatory requirements are maintained.
You’ll also play a key role in creating a positive and productive work environment; building, motivating and upskilling the Utilities, Landscaping and the wider Engineering department to ensure they are highly engaged. And in our unique environment, you will be the main point of contact and champion of IHG’s sustainability initiative, Green Engage.
The day to day of this role will include;
• Preparing and analysing data, internal and external reporting to support operational decision making
• Record keeping any department compliance with legislative controls for Contract work procurement, Work Place Health and Safety and Occupational Health and Safety both Federal and State
• Trouble shooting problems, planning and implement solutions in a quality system approach
• Assist the Department Managers with prioritizing and scheduling of reactive and/or breakdown maintenance in line with the work order system, and monitor response time and call backs on completion
• Assist the Administration Coordinator with inventory and stock control
• Create and maintain the critical spares par and reorder levels
• Assisting as needed across the Engineering Department
• Provide guidance and support for the Engineering Coordinator who is a direct report to this position
What we need from you
To be successful in this role you will need to have 2-3 year experience in a similar role within a hotel or resort environment, preferably in a large complex property or large dynamic operation. Technical knowledge across all facets of property services will be advantageous to your success. Proven ability to manage multiple and varying projects is essential and having done so in a resort environment will be a plus. You will have the ability to work alongside a team and collaborate with key stakeholders with a sense of urgency. Strategic thinking, the ability to explore new ways of working and an open mind around how we can drive the Resort forward and deliver unrivalled guest journeys.
A methodical and structured approach to program maintenance with strong knowledge of computerized software systems will be fundamental; Microsoft Office, Hard Cat, Donesafe, CMS, BMS. Flexibility to work a varied roster, when required, including late evenings, weekends and public holidays in order to support the operation alongside holding Australian work rights and driver’s license is also a must. The ideal candidate will hold relevant qualifications in the Asset or Facilities Management areas.
