Multi-Skilled Technician
Preventive Maintenance
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance in accordance with the hotel's Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) program.
- Conduct routine inspections of hotel facilities, guestrooms, public areas, back-of-house, and engineering plant rooms.
- Identify equipment deterioration and perform proactive maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and engineering standards.
Corrective Maintenance
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests through the hotel's work order system.
- Diagnose faults and perform repairs to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and building systems.
- Restore equipment and facilities to operational condition with minimal disruption to hotel operations.
- Escalate specialized repairs beyond the scope of the role to the Engineering Supervisor.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Daily Inspections
- Attend the Engineering daily briefing and review assigned work orders.
- Inspect guestrooms, public areas, plant rooms, and back-of-house facilities.
- Monitor the condition and performance of building systems and equipment.
- Check for safety hazards, leaks, abnormal noises, equipment alarms, and operational deficiencies.
Maintenance Activities
- Carry out preventive maintenance as scheduled.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from operational departments.
- Repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and minor civil defects.
- Replace defective components such as lamps, switches, valves, taps, filters, thermostats, belts, and motors where applicable.
- Test equipment after repairs to ensure proper operation.
Guest Support
- Respond courteously and professionally to guest maintenance requests.
- Complete guestroom repairs with minimal inconvenience to guests.
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and cleanliness while working in occupied areas.
Documentation
- Complete work orders and preventive maintenance records accurately.
- Report recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Notify the Engineering Supervisor of major repair requirements or spare parts needed.
Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures where applicable.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
- Ensure compliance with hotel health, safety, and environmental standards.
Qualifications:
Education
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Building Services, or a related technical field.
Experience
- Minimum 2–3 years of maintenance experience in a hotel, commercial building, or facilities environment.
- Experience in multi-skilled maintenance across electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems.
- Previous hospitality experience is preferred.
