As a Pools & Ponds Technician, you will be responsible for maintaining the operational excellence, safety, and presentation of InterContinental Hayman Great Barrier Reef’s aquatic facilities, including resort pools, ponds, water features, and associated equipment.

You will conduct routine inspections, maintenance, and adjustments across all aquatic systems to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. This includes monitoring and maintaining water quality through regular testing and chemical balancing, identifying potential issues, and taking proactive action to maintain exceptional water conditions.

Base rate $40.58 + penalties + loading

To be successful in this full-time role, you’ll have:

• Reliable team player with a strong focus on safety, quality, and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Current Queensland Driver’s Licence and Construction Safety Induction (White Card).
• Previous experience in commercial pool maintenance, aquatic facilities, or a similar technical role.
• Experience with commercial plantroom filtration, chemical dosing systems, and pool water testing equipment (Spin Touch, Palin, and/or Lovibond preferred).
• Pool Operators Plantroom Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
• Basic computer skills for accurate maintenance and water quality record keeping.
• Strong understanding of workplace health, safety, and environmental practices.
• Physically fit with flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
