Your Day to Day
As an Assistant Restaurant Manager - All Day Dining, you will support the Restaurant Manager in the day-to-day operation of our All Day Dining outlet, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for every guest while maintaining the highest standards of service, quality, and operational efficiency.
You will play a key role in leading and developing the restaurant team, driving guest satisfaction, and ensuring that all operational standards are consistently delivered in line with InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and IHG standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Restaurant Manager in the overall management of the All Day Dining operation, ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations across all meal periods.
- Lead, supervise, and motivate the restaurant team to consistently deliver warm, attentive, and personalized service.
- Maintain a visible presence on the floor, engaging with guests and ensuring their needs and expectations are proactively addressed.
- Monitor service standards, food presentation, cleanliness, table setup, and overall restaurant ambience to ensure consistency throughout the operation.
- Handle guest feedback and service recovery professionally, ensuring concerns are addressed promptly and appropriate follow-up is completed.
- Assist in managing restaurant opening and closing procedures, ensuring all operational, hygiene, and safety requirements are followed.
- Support the Restaurant Manager in workforce planning, scheduling, briefing, and deployment of colleagues according to business levels and operational requirements.
- Conduct daily briefings and ensure the team is fully informed of promotions, events, VIP guests, operational updates, and service expectations.
- Coach and develop colleagues through on-the-job training, regular feedback, and performance discussions.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, health and safety, and HACCP requirements at all times.
- Monitor inventory, equipment, operating supplies, and wastage, taking appropriate action to support cost control.
- Work closely with Kitchen, Stewarding, Housekeeping, Engineering, and other hotel departments to ensure seamless restaurant operations.
- Assist in monitoring departmental revenues, average spend, productivity, and other key performance indicators.
- Support the implementation of restaurant promotions, special events, and hotel-wide initiatives.
- Act as the Restaurant Manager in their absence, taking full responsibility for the operation and team as required.
- Create genuine connections with guests and ensure they receive personalized and memorable experiences.
- Anticipate guest needs and proactively identify opportunities to exceed expectations.
- Build positive relationships with regular guests and hotel residents.
- Ensure guest preferences, feedback, and special requests are effectively communicated to the team.
- Champion service recovery and ensure guest concerns are resolved with professionalism and care.
Lead by example and create an engaging and inclusive working environment.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous supervisory or management experience within a high-volume restaurant, hotel, resort, or luxury hospitality environment.
- Experience in All Day Dining, buffet operations, or a comparable restaurant environment is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, service standards, and food safety practices.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team.
- Commercial awareness with an understanding of restaurant revenue and cost control.
Previous experience within an international luxury hotel brand is preferred.
