Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven leader to join our team as Director of Group Sales. The ideal candidate will work directly with the Director of Sales & Marketing and bring a strong background in group hotel sales, with deep expertise across corporate, incentive, association, and specialty markets. This includes a proven track record of driving group room night production and revenue growth within the luxury hospitality industry.
As Director of Group Sales, your primary responsibility will be to develop and execute sales strategies, lead and develop a high-performing group sales team, and build lasting relationships with key accounts and industry partners.
The successful candidate should possess a deep understanding of the luxury hotel market and the ability to identify and capitalize on new group business opportunities. You must have a robust network of contacts within the industry, both domestically and internationally, which you can leverage to drive sales and revenue growth.
A little bit about your day:
Reporting to the Director of Sales & Marketing, every day is different, but you’ll mostly:
• Develop and implement group sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and room night production goals, aligning efforts with property goals and luxury brand standards
• Identify and maximize group business opportunities through proactive, targeted solicitation programs across corporate, incentive, association, and specialty markets
• Build, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with key clients, third-party planners, and industry contacts to drive repeat business and long-term partnerships
• Lead site inspections, client presentations, and RFP responses to convert high-value group opportunities
• Proactively seek out new business opportunities and devise corresponding sales plans to grow the resort’s group client base
• Partner with the Director of Meetings & Events, Revenue Management, and Operations teams to ensure seamless transition from sale to execution and an elevated guest experience
• Provide guidance, coaching, and development for Group Sales Managers and support staff, fostering a high-performance culture aligned with Regent’s values
• Report on sales performance, pipeline activity, and revenue forecasts, providing accurate and timely updates to senior management
• Create compelling storytelling presentations that communicate the resort’s features, benefits, and competitive differentiators
• Represent the property at trade shows, industry events, and client functions; actively plan and participate in site visits and FAMs
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5–7 years of Group Sales experience within the luxury hotel industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
• Proven track record of meeting and exceeding group revenue targets and room night production goals
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
• Extensive network of contacts within the luxury hotel sector, including corporate accounts, incentive houses, and third-party planners
• Proficiency in managing RFPs and response processes, including familiarity with Cvent, Delphi, and CRM systems
• Dedication to delivering exceptional customer service and a luxury service attitude toward internal and external stakeholders
• A willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed
What you can expect from us:
The annual pay range for this role is $140,000.00 to $150,000.00. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed at Regent Santa Monica Beach. This position is eligible for bonus pay.
