Restaurant General Manager - InterContinental Abu Dhabi

A little taste of your day-to-day:

As Restaurant General Manager, you will oversee the full operation, performance, and guest experience of the Sports Bar. You will lead a motivated team to deliver excellent service and create a lively destination for both hotel guests and the local community.

Every day is different, but you’ll mostly do:

• Inspire, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing Food & Beverage team while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, engagement, and continuous improvement.
• Recruit, train, mentor, and retain talented colleagues, supporting their career development through regular performance reviews, coaching, and succession planning.
• Create a motivating and empowering work environment where colleagues feel valued and consistently deliver their best.
• Oversee all day-to-day Sports Bar operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and profitable service delivery.
• Maintain exceptional standards of food quality, beverage presentation, service excellence, cleanliness, hygiene, and safety.
• Deliver a premium guest experience aligned with the InterContinental luxury brand while ensuring full compliance with IHG, HACCP, and UAE regulations.
• Drive revenue growth through innovative promotions, themed events, sports screenings, live entertainment, and engaging guest experiences.
• Develop and execute business plans, budgets, and forecasts while managing labour, food, beverage, and operational costs effectively.
• Analyse financial and operational performance, identify trends, and implement strategies to improve profitability and efficiency.
• Build strong guest relationships, respond to feedback professionally, and ensure consistently high guest satisfaction and online reputation scores.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Revenue teams to create impactful campaigns, outlet activations, and business development initiatives.
• Strengthen market position by engaging corporate clients, local businesses, sports communities, and event partners.
• Ensure full compliance with food safety, health and safety, responsible alcohol service, licensing requirements, and internal audit standards.
• Promote sustainability initiatives and uphold IHG environmental and operational best practices.

What we need from you:

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 5–7 years' progressive Food & Beverage management experience.
• At least 2 years' experience leading a high-volume Sports Bar, gastropub, lifestyle venue, or premium restaurant.
• Previous experience within an international luxury hotel brand is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated success in increasing revenue, improving guest satisfaction, and developing high-performing teams.
• Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, labour costs, and inventory control.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and restaurant POS systems.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, public holidays, and major sporting events.
