Job Responsibilities:

  • To interact with the public responsibly and welcome all users of the facilities.
  • To comply with the Pool Safe Operating Procedures at all times.
  • To maintain a vigilant watch of the swimming pool areas in accordance with the operating procedures and take necessary action to ensure the safety of all pool users and staff.
  • To check the safety of equipment in areas of responsibility and report any damage or malfunction of equipment, plant or building fabric immediately after discovery.
  • To assist in the preparation and operation of events and activities, including the assembly and dismantling of equipment and minor repairs when required.
  • To ensure that a consistently high level of cleanliness and hygiene is maintained throughout the facilities at all times.
  • To ensure that lost property is handled and recorded in line with procedures.
  • To patrol all areas of the facility and ensure that all areas are being used in the correct manner, making suitable adjustments as necessary.
  • Assist with the supervision and control of children’s activities including parties, play schemes and courses.
  • Perform routine checks of customers’ receipts to ensure proof of payment for entry to the swimming pool.
  • To comply with the Pool’s Health and Safety procedures at all times.
  • To ensure that all Pool equipment is stored safely and securely when not in use.
  • To report any maintenance issues using the appropriate procedures.
  • To attend relevant training courses as required by IHG.
  • Follow all safety policies.

Administrative Duties:

  1. Adherence to Standard Operating Procedures Manual.
  2. To maintain accurate records as required by provincial regulations.

Health and Safety:

  1. Adherence to all Facility Operations departmental Emergency Procedures/Safety Manual.
  2. Ensure all departments adhere to all safety practices.

Guest Service:

  1. To ensure the facility is in peak condition at all times (operations and cleanliness).

Qualifications & Requirements:

  1. Valid Lifeguard Certification issued or recognized by the Saudi Arabian Swimming Federation is mandatory.
  2. Valid First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.
  3. Previous experience as a Lifeguard in a hotel, resort, sports club, or recreational facility is preferred.
  4. Good communication and guest service skills.
  5. Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
